Co-working space -
Empack Belgium 2024

Flanders Expo, Ghent

This co-working space, designed for the Empack 2024 and Transport & Logistics exhibition at Flanders Expo in Ghent.

Covering an 11 x 4 m floor area, we divided the space into two distinct sections.
The left area is designed for relaxed meetings and casual conversations, while the right side is for more work-focused meetings, featuring a bar desk along one side.

The design emphasizes the use of arches for the main structure, connected by cardboard beams, creating a more enclosed and cozy atmosphere.

This project was made in collaboration with our French partner:

Materials and Characteristics

For this project, we focused on using 3 main arches as the primary construction element, connected by cardboard beams that function as a roof, creating a more enclosed and cozy environment. In the center we showcase a centerpiece planter.

We chose unprinted materials to allow their natural characteristics to speak for themselves. The combination of the white cardboard liner with the interior and
the rusty red felt created the perfect balance for a calm and serene space, ideal
for working or holding meetings.

Bar desk and lighting

The desk, equipped with barstools and charging points, provides convenient spots for quick phone or laptop charging. Positioned at the front, the bar desk and seating area create a natural division between the working space and the larger meeting table located behind it.

The spotlights, made from 3D-printed plastic, are integrated into the pillars and controlled by a dimmer for adjustable lighting. Both the hanging lights and desk lamps are crafted from display cardboard, enhancing the cohesive design.
